Resumo: This research aims to analyze the determinations of the categorical complex of language, as conceived by György Lukács, in the work Ontology of social being. The study will have as its guiding thread the pages dedicated especially to this topic in the Complex of complexes section, and for the purposes of complementation and deepening, we will also turn to Aesthetics – chapters one and eleven – and the Prolegomena. We will seek to demonstrate how the category of language emerges in the dense categorical web that makes up the work, as well as the moment and reason why it was necessary to bring it up for a detailed examination. Having done this, we will look into the internal legalities of the language complex, seeking to illuminate its categorical structure, peculiarity and reproduction. Finally, we will make some notes on the topic in The signaling system 1', a chapter that is part of the third volume of Aesthetics, and which constitutes a necessary complement for the broad understanding of language as an instrument of communication and exchange between human beings.
