Resumo: The research is aimed at evaluating the potential of the WebQuest methodology for teaching and learning literature. A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which some or all of the information that learners interact with comes from resources on the internet. The work from a qualitative case study carried out with 31 students of the third year from a public high school in São Luís/MA (Brazil). The challenges and potential of the methodolgy were examined regarding the students interest in discussing the book Near to the Wild Heart, by Clarice Lispector. A WebQuest entitled Web Adventure with Clarice Lispector was developed and applied to the students during the research. Data collection was conducted through that the WebQuest methodology is a good pedagogical strategy for teaching literature and when it is associated with Web 2.0 tools, it stimulates curiosity, authorship, student's creativity and interest in discussing literary works.
