Resumo: |
University libraries play a crucial role in educational support and scientific production at universities. The Pinheiro Library is a university library that faces the challenge of providing an excellent service to its users, which is why it is important to improve the ways of accessing information in its collection to meet the needs of its users. With this aim, a virtual showcase was developed for the library through a study that involved bibliographical research, a prospective study on a virtual showcase in the promotion of library collections, mapping of the Pinheiro Library collection, development and registration of the virtual showcase and its brand, generation of QR Codes for fixing on shelves and creation of informative material. The results of the prospective study indicated the absence of records and publications on virtual showcases for promoting library collections. In mapping the collection, its main characteristics were identified regarding the type of informational material in its collection, area of knowledge covered, users who use the collection most and usability of titles in the area of Health Sciences, the focus of this research. The showcase development process considered five stages: planning, design and layout, development, content and usability testing. The usability test showed that the interviewees rated most of the evaluation criteria regarding the product's functionalities and usability as “Excellent”, in addition, everyone stated that it fulfilled its purpose and would use it again. This demonstrates user satisfaction with the showcase and reinforces its importance in promoting the collection and improving relationships with users. The tool has expansion potential with new functional requirements to offer better experiences to users. |
