Resumo: The investigation carried out in the present research deals with teaching philosophy in the early years of elementary school and its relationship with the formation of the person human. Therefore, it starts from the assumption that philosophy is fundamental to the cognitive development and for the construction of human personality once that it makes possible the construction of a critical conscience and a responsibility with the formation of the subject itself and its relationship with the other. In this way, the search has as general objective to analyze the relationship between the teaching of philosophy and the formation of the children of the 5th year of elementary school at the private school Upaon-açu, from the perspective of Edith Stein's philosophical anthropology. From the concept of empathy, the notion of formation of the human person and Stein's phenomenology, the theoretical-methodological approach that circumscribes this research will be developed qualitative. Taking the analysis of the situated phenomenon as one of the modalities of this type of investigation, contemplating the description, reduction and understanding phenomenological. The purpose of the research - when investigating the teaching of philosophy to child and its itinerary in the early years of elementary school -, is to highlight the human being as an indivisible unity of body, psyche and spirit, fitting, therefore, education to take into account the formation of the human being as a whole.
