Resumo: |
The building is recognized as one of the most important activities for economic and social development of the country, but it is one of the sectors that generate environmental impacts due to waste and high production of waste, which often does not have an appropriate destination, which ends up generating major economic, social and environmental impacts in urban areas of cities. This study aimed to make a diagnosis of the use of construction waste in Sao Luis. To develop this work forms and questionnaires were applied in building companies in the collecting companies and carriers and public bodies that are directly linked to the management of such waste. The results are currently the Construction Waste Management System in the city is inefficient, because those involved do not meet the legal requirements, which leads to a large number of irregular discharge points spread across all districts, the causing harm to the environment. There is only one regular disposal site that is the landfill of Ribeira that works without an environmental permit operation. The construction waste utilization potential is there, primarily class A that are prevalent among the waste generated in construction, in the form of aggregates and transformation of new products, as well as the energy use of wood in the form of direct combustion ovens in bakeries, pizzerias and ceramic companies. But for this use is carried out efficiently is necessary that the management system is implemented properly, and that the physical structures are in place to meet the needs of both large generators and the small, and especially where there is market to absorb products resulting from the use of such waste. |
