The present research has as object of study and general theme the chronicles produced by Domício da Gama for the newspaper Gazeta de Notícias (RJ). In view of this, we are guided by the following guiding question: Is it possible to verify an interrelationship between image and text in Domício da Gama's chronicles for journalism in Rio de Janeiro? For this investigation to materialize, we have as general objective to analyze the recurring elements in the writing of Gama's chronicles for the newspaper Gazeta de Notícias (RJ), with the aim of establishing an interartistic relationship, in addition to, specifically, understanding the role of journalism Brazilian in the process of literary dissemination; show how interartistic relationships occur and how the iconotext can be verified; reveal the profile and writing of Domício da Gama during the years 1888 and 1889; and, finally, to identify the interrelationships of text and image that may be present in Domício da Gama's chronicle. For the work in question, methodologically, it was necessary to resort to research in the periodicals available in the Hemeroteca of the National Library, since its nature is the bias of research on primary fronts. According to the research objectives, it is an exploratory research, with a qualitative basis. As for the technical procedures, it is a bibliographical and documental research. The theoretical framework is thus constituted: firstly, it is based on the emergence of the press in Brazil and how this enabled the dissemination of literary writings; then an interartistic route is shown and how the iconotext is presented in the linguistic bias; then, a little of the critical fortune of the author in question is highlighted and, finally, the visual aspects of the written text. For this perspective we used authors such as Bahia (2009), Carvalhal (2006), Filho (2002), Arbex (2006), Louvel (2006). As a result, it can be seen that Gama, through current elements in his writing, inserts aspects that transmit emotions and evoke the visual senses; the reader, therefore, is privileged not only by a singular relationship, but also heterogeneous and permeated by pictorial translations. |
