The present study has as object to investigate the long-live people opinion about their participating on the Education Continue Program of The University Integrated to the Third Age of The University Federal of Maranhão, Brazil. The grow-old phenomenon starts in the context where the birth rate and the fecundity rate have changed the Brazilian population pyramid. Along with this, the long lived participating in a new context became an important condition for living well, taking dynamics functions, besides to confront the challenges that represents negatively this group. In Brazil, today, there are countless Establishments for higher education that developments continue programs, like The Open University to The Third Age, what has a relevant function that allows long-lived public living and following the transformations of the world. Therefore, this study treats the object in a qualitative view and, to get the goals, will be used as methodologic proceeds an semi structured interview, of which they will participate 13 (thirteen) long-live persons from Extension Program Maranhão Federal University - The University Integrated to the Third Age- UNIT/UFMA. The search is based in a Literature review about the grow old and the various terminology to theses persons who lived many years nowadays. A theory discusses about Continue Education and Longevity comes up with theories like Gerontology, Education and The University to the Third Age, its history and its relevance to them. The finally considerations allows a discuss with concepts and points about a positive and active Longevity that permits a inclusion of this public in the society, favoring their search for knowing along this life. The results of this study demonstrated, that for those enduning the age no langer snag, the lifelong not only can, as should continue to attend academic environment, overcome difficulties, encar challenges and envision new possibilities for their lives. We realized that the return to the classroom has an important intangible for the teachers interviewed. We not the importance of the role of the third at the Federal University of Maranhão. To prepare stundents for active aging, enduring since students are positive, motivated to continue to learn their lives. By feel citizens entered integrated society. |
