Resumo: |
To describe the epidemiologic, clinical, obstetric profile of women in puerperium with HDP admitted in a general ICU in São Luís, Maranhão, it was held a descriptive, retrospective and observational study in fifty-eight puerperal women between 2005 to 2008. It was analyzed socio-demographic variables, obstetric, clinics, invasive procedures, complications, evolution of patients and outcome. There was a largest prevalence of women aged 15 to 25 years (69%), mulatto (50%), single (55,2%), with elementary school (44,8%), earning less than minimum wage (69%). Presented convulsion (36.2%); without prenatal (60.3%) and 51.7% were primiparous. Invasive procedures: deep venous access (45%), mechanical ventilation (37.9%), hemodialysis (12%). The most frequent complications were eclâmpsia (36.2%), severe hemorrhage (20.1%), acute lung edema (20.1%) and HELLP syndrome (12.1%).The death rate was 10.3%. In conclusion, HDP was an important cause of morbimortality in puerperal women, highlighting the need for better prenatal assistance and early detection of complications for the reduction of mortality. |
