Resumo: |
The present thesis is the result of a survey carried out with a group of displaced persons from stilts to apartments - dwellers in a housing complex in São Luís. The displacement project, promoted by the Growth Acceleration Program of the Federal Government (PAC) was based on predominantly technical foundations: ways of life, the vision of the world and the reciprocity historically constituted among the residents were not considered, for example. From the field work and living with residents, a dense process of violent sociability was identified, which increased as drug trafficking expanded in the region. Add to this, the police action characterized by strong criminal subjection. In addition, residents have stressed that they are victims of prejudice and stigma on the part of the encompassing society, due to conflicts that occur in the mediation of the Condominium. All these mechanisms are coupled with the criminalization of poverty. |
