Resumo: Statistical data indicate that People with Intellectual Disabilities are a minority in labor organizations when it comes to compliance with the Law of Inclusion at work, the work that is central and essential for all people. Based on this premise, the present research aimed to investigate the work activity of People with Intellectual Disabilities and the repercussions for the health and subjectivity of theses workers. To better articulate these categories, the theoretical contribution of the Social-Historical Psychology was used to discuss work and subjectivity, and the epistemological basis of Psychodynamics of work applied to discuss work and health. In addition to the bibliographic research, an empirical research was carried out in São Luís with 7 People with Intellectual Disabilities who, in addition to having a formal active job during the data collection, had a medical report that characterizes intellectual disability according to the standards defined by the World Health Organization (WHO). The interviewer’s speeches were raised from a semi-structured interview script and assessed in light of the Critical Discourse Analysis (ACD, in Portuguese). Based on the results obtained, among other conclusions, it is possible to infer that entering the world of work represents major changes and gains in the personal life of the Person with Intellectual Disabilities, which corroborates for the ratification of the centrality of work in the interviewer’s lives, as well as experiences of pleasure in the work environment. On the other hand, it was found that, even with interpretative and / or cognitive limitations, People with Intellectual Disabilities perceive the barriers imposed by the organizations of work, which favors experiences of degrading prejudice, including. In this way, the present research contributes with an important reflection and critical analysis about the inclusion in the work, and, mainly, it provides a careful look towards a working class little perceived.
