Resumo: This research aims to analyze the conception of the political dimension of pedagogical practice, and how this process takes place in a school in the municipal school system of São Luís, adopting its oral narratives as the main source. The research had as its starting point the following research question: to what extent does the initial formation of the teacher and the training processes at school contribute to the construction of the political dimension of his pedagogical practice? The main objectives of the research are: To investigate the understanding / conception that teachers have regarding the political dimension of pedagogical practice; Understand what in the conception of teachers a pedagogical practice in its political dimension, provides in the student's life at school and in society; Analyze the possibilities and difficulties of materializing a pedagogical practice in its political dimension and how this is thought along with school management . Five teachers participated in this research, from a school in the municipal network of São Luís -MA. We used theoretical and methodological contributions by Tanuri (2000), Franco (2016), Paulo Freire (1921), Duarte (2001), among others. For the production of data, the main source is the collection of audio from teachers via WhatsApp. From the study on the speeches of the subjects of this research, we can see that the understanding of the pedagogical dimension in the teacher's practice, and his experience in the school space still has a long way to go, teachers cannot see living this dimension in a context scrapping of the ́pública school.
