Resumo: The research focus emphasizes that currently there is a perception that a small number of women with intellectual disabilities are inserted in the formal labor market and, in general, this insertion occurs in positions that require low-skilled and low pay. Fact that, in theory, compromise the objective of the process of financial and intellectual emancipation of the women students before society. Aiming therefore demystify this vision preconceived woman student with intellectual disabilities, research, whose studies of deriving this dissertation, it is proposed to analyze the access and permanence of women with Intellectual Disabilities, discharged Center Education Teaching special Antipoff Helena, the labor market in São Luís empirical data were collected through semi-structured interviews, and direct observation by the possibility of obtaining a more detailed information about the object searched. Was performed with 04 (four) professionals: 02 (two) intellectually disabled workers, with employment in 02 (two) private companies: 01 (one) network hospital and another in the area of retail general merchandise (supermarket), 01 (one) Inclusion Coordinator of the Working / Learning Center Special Education Antipoff Helena (NIT - CEEEHA) and 01 (one) Coordinator of the company's Social Responsibility (supermarket). The interviews form recorded, transcribed and analyzed qualitatively using content analysis proposed by Bardin (2007). As procedures used to bibliographic and documentary. In the literature, we sought to publications (books, journals, dissertations, theses) and the documentary, legal documents (laws, decrees, resolutions), who contributed to the development of theoretical research. As a result of the research, points out that companies hire people with intellectual disabilities due to the requirement imposed by law, and, as a result of the inspection conducted by the Ministry of Labour, justifying the difficulty of hiring because of lack of education, skills professional and the inadequacy of the companies to receive them. However, it is noteworthy that the quota law constitutes an opening for persons with intellectual disabilities to have access to the labor market in recognition of its potential, which favors their recruitment into different categories.
