Resumo: The present research will be carried out in the scope of the Post-Graduate Program in Philosophy - Professional Master's Degree in Philosophy (PROF-FILO) of Universidade Federal do Maranhão, linked to the area of Philosophy Teaching and Philosophy research line and Teaching. It has as object of analysis: “The recognition of you in your identification as a teacher: a study with teachers licensed in philosophy in the regular and urban municipal network of São Luís from Maranhão. The exposition of the teaching of Philosophy within the historicity of Brazilian Education, based on readings such as Paim (1927), Cartolano (1985), Crippa (1978), Jaime (1997), Manacorda ( 1999), Alves (2002), Saviani (2007), among others; the "recognition" and "teacher" categories will be presented, the first one from the perspective of Paul Ricoeur (2006), and the second one within the conception brought by António Nóvoa (1992/1999) as theoretical foundation necessary for the parameters of analysis on the research carried out among these professionals; Finally, we will investigate the recognition of self as a teacher in the graduates in philosophy, through the formative profile and self-recognition in their teaching practice in the Urban Municipal Regular Urban Network of São Luís from Maranhão.
