Religiosidade e erotismo na poesia primeira de Vinicius de Moraes

In view of the first poetry published by Vinicius de Moraes in the 1930 decade, it is possible to notice the apparent contradiction that occurs between sacred and profane images, between the aspiration to spiritual elevate things and the appeal of the carnal desires. Nevertheless, what seems, at first, contradictory, may end up retaining a deeper connection than appearances might suggest. Thus, the present paper seeks, through the articulation among studies by the authors Georges Bataille (1987, 1989, 2008, 2012), Octávio Paz (1982, 1994) and Michel Foucault (2000); as well as the analysis of the poetic works in question — which will constitute of the books O Caminho para a distância (1933) and Forma e Exegese (1935) , as well as of the separate poem entitled Ariana, a mulher (1936) —, to try to identify and understand the relationship that takes place between the religious and the erotic faces within the poetry produced by Vinicius de Moraes, at the beginning of his writer carreer.
