Resumo: | Our research has as object of analysis, the knowledge of the truth in the "Against the Academicians" by Augustine. Despite the criterion of truth to academic knowledge as 'ueritas', Augustine supports the interpretation of truth as 'veritas'. Truth has a treatment of 'veritas' as a reality that guides us and leads us to the knowledge of the beatitude. In this, the knowledge of truth the dialogue differs from what is true for academics. While in Academics, truth is the possibility of philosophy achieving some certainty in knowledge, for Augustine, truth is the sovereign well of knowledge. |
