Resumo: |
This dissertation analyzes internationalization actions at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN). The research investigated how one of UFG’s international initiatives, international academic production, contributes to achieving the SDGs. The main objective was to verify the adherence between the scientific production of the UFG and the SDG’s between the years 2021 and 2024. The adherence of publications was analyzed in general and segregated by areas of knowledge. The relevance of publications that adhere to the SDGs was also analyzed using the Qualis (Capes) classification of the journals as a reference. The methodology included a documentary analysis of UFG's internationalization plans, bibliometric research and the use of artificial intelligence tools for data processing. In total, 7818 articles published in international journals by UFG researchers were analyzed. The results indicate that UFG's international scientific production is aligned with the SDGs at a rate of around 90%. 10% of works do not adhere to the SDGs. Of these works, most of the publications were carried out in journals with Qualis B1 and B2 classification. In relation to areas of knowledge, Engineering, Applied Social Sciences and Human Sciences presented the highest percentage of publications aligned with the SDG’s. The areas that presented the most relevant publications that adhered to the SDGs were the area of Linguistics, Literature and Arts and the area of Multidisciplinary Programs with 14.12% and 12.33% respectively of publications in journals classified as A1 by Qualis. However, there are still significant challenges for internationalization at UFG and the institution's alignment with new international perspectives and trends. The need for greater integration between departments and the strengthening of strategic partnerships with international institutions was noted. A Technical-Technological Product (PTT) was produced based on the dissertation findings. The PTT was produced in the form of a conclusive technical report and aimed to provide information to two strategic secretariats of the university in order to help UFG achieve one of its objectives, which is precisely its greatest international projection. The dissertation concludes that a more coordinated and strategic approach can enhance UFG's impact in promoting the SDGs, contributing to global sustainable development |
