Resumo: |
This work questions how Brazilian magazine Veja has narratively connected events, opinions and interpretations in its journalistic narratives of the first ten years of the 21st century. We suggest that it is plausible, and productive, to analyze such narratives of our time as myths, once they are a product of a modern society which is also somewhat mythical. Therefore, in our work, we try to relate myth, Modernity and journalism within the perspective of social construction of reality, in order to infer a theory of social construction of illusion. We focus on the covers and editorials of Veja magazine, from 2005 to 2015, and follow its slow knitting of narratives over time, as well as its symbolic constitution of dualities, contradictions, overlaps, and other mechanisms of bonding between different events. |
