Resumo: The present thesis had as objective to carry out an analysis about the intensification of Brazilian cattle in the central region of Brazil, more specifically in the States of Minas Gerais, Goiás, Tocantins, Mato Grosso and Pará. The element that calls the attention is that the cattle is one of the main factors that had contributed for the expansion of frontier in the country. In this context, it is observed that the cattle, following dynamics of agriculture, also it passed for important changes amongst which detach the adoption of techniques that allow to increase the productivity and profitability of the beef cattle, as the confinement. But, regarding the advantages of the available technologies one notices that only a few farmers use these techniques to increase their productivity. Moreover national cattle , although it is important for the agribusiness and to be in world-wide prominence, faces some problems. Therefore the productive chain of the meat is losing market in the international trade due to issues like lack of sanitary adequacy, environmental and social certification of the meat, amongst others.
