This paper presented a discussion on the relationship of social macrostructure Neopentecostalism with the individualization process. Were presented the concepts of individuation process as the process in which the individual produces its own identity and its relationship with the existing social structures, from the logic of contemporary capitalist rationality. In that sense, it was also observed the behavior produced by individuals in the Fountain of Life Church of Goiania church that is representative of neo-Pentecostalism and so became a locus articulator of capitalist rationality in everyday relationships of individuals. It is concluded through interviews and field observations at Fountain of Life Church, that this church has strengthened the pragmatic behavior regarding the relationships of individuals as well as reinforced the desire / consumption as a criterion for validating choices in order to maximize the certainty salvation of the faithful. The process of individualization in this sense becomes restricted to the production of highly self-centered and generalized identity characteristics. |
