Resumo: |
The present dissertation deals with the analysis and evaluation of competitiveness in the dairy production in Morrinhos (GO, Brazil), taking into consideration the key factors in this production chain. Therefore, we used the methodology presented by Silva and Batalha (1999) for agribusiness systems competitiveness analysis. Sixteen interviews were done in the city of Morrinhos with representatives of the dairy production chain in order to evaluate seven competitiveness drivers. The results indicate a tendency towards neutrality, hence four of them (Institutional Environment, Technology, Market Relations and Productive Resources), although positive, have little influence on the competitiveness of dairy production in the city. Two drivers (Market Structure and Management) have negative influence on competitiveness, and market structure had an unfavorable assessment, while management, in spite of a negative evaluation, remains closer to neutrality. Only the driver Quality presents favorable results, indicating that, as perceived by key agents, milk quality is a competitive criterion for the dairy production in Morrinhos (GO). |
