Resumo: | This research is a study on the behavior of the media in face of a fact-confrontational - the Roseana s Sarney possession of Governor - questioning the meaning of democracy practiced in our country. It analyzes and highlights as a research subject, the ritual of possession, which happened following the with cassation of the then Governor Jackson Lago, elected by popular vote and revoked by the Superior Electoral Court on charges of abuse of political power in the 2006 elections. In this context, it makes an assessment of the formation of political groups in Brazil and, in particular, in Maranhão, identifying the relationships of power that were carried out between the local and national levels. Shows concepts of democracy, representation and ritual, considered important for the analysis of the object in question. Finally, it emphasizes the conflictual ritual of possession, caused by the former governor's insistence on staying in the seat of government of the state of Maranhao, refusing to vacate, so that the new government took office. For better clarification, does the analysis of the frameworks presented in three newspapers of greater representation in the state: O Estado do Maranhao- which is administered by the group Sarney, O Imparcial - which claims to follow a neutral line, whose commitment is only with the news, and the small Newspapers, whose main characteristic is the oppositionist. |
