The objective of this research is the evaluation and measure of the contributing factors of aeronautical accidents, through research of the statistics of all the aeronautical accidents occurrences with aircraft in the United States of America, that totalize 143,725 accidents in the period of 1962 to the first semester of 2004. Considering the trinomial Man Environment - Machine this study classifies all the accidents, studying the incidence of each one of the factors that had contributed for the occurrence of them. These drivers stand for decisions taking and criteria of a model for security management. From the analysis of these factors, and searching in the available bibliography it is presented a proposal for improving the checking approach in the management system. Providing greater consistency to the Program of Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents, developed for the Center of Inquiry and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents CENIPA. The related research concluded that it is possible to determine in percentile terms, which the contribution factors that determines the occurrence of the aeronautical accident, being presented the drivers for the classification of the related contributing factors.
