This shows the need for researches that go deep into the systematics adopted by company-customer with its suppliers, specifically in quality assurance of product and process development before the start of production in series. The objective of this work is to analyze the practices of the quality assurance of products and processes before the start of the production in series of companies in the automotive industry. The method used was an elaborated questionnaire sent to seventy companies in the various segments of the automotive industry. Part of the obtained results demonstrates that many of companies researched are using the good practices of quality assurance from the definition of suppliers till the approval of products and processes for production. The results also indicates that companies are exploring all possibilities to improve the quality of its products e make them capable of competing satisfactorily on the global market.
