Resumo: | Business incubators have emerged in the context of significant changes in the international economic scenario, where innovation use the key word for companies faced with the challenge of becoming more competitive. The recognition on the part of the productive sector that universities are generators of knowledge and essential information for innovation, has encouraged the creation of small and micro businesses for the development of new products and processes, through the incubation of these the enterprises. In thus the incubators of technology-based companies has emerged as an alternative option for encouraging the process of transfer of knowledge and technology from universities to the incubating companies. This study will analyze the behavior of the Technology-based Companies Incubator at the Fluminense Federal University (IEBTUFF), to examine the ways in which the incubator fulfills its mission to transfer knowledge and technology, identifying the principal advantages and difficulties in the management of this transfer as perceived by the investors. The methodology used this based on a case study of the business incubator at the UFF, in which a diagnoses of the process of the transfer of knowledge and technology was prepared to serve as a basis for possible opportunities to improve the performance of the incubator. |
