Resumo: The present dissertation analyses in which form the linguistics varieties showed to the students of the EJA (Education of the Young People and Adults) are considered by the teachers in their daily education practices. The general purpose is to comprehend the way the teachers of the first segment of the EJA, develop their daily education practices in relation to the phenomena of the linguistic variation. The pedagogical practices are mainly studied from some aspects that refer to the phenomena of the linguistic variations according to some authors such as: Bagno, Bortoni-Ricardo, Gnerre and Soares among others. The empirical research was made through some interviews to two teachers who teach in the EJA at the public schools in the city of Rio de Janeiro, including 11 pupils. It has also been made 80 hours of observation in a classroom. The research shows some teachers and students conceptions about the spoken language that is supported in a notion of the unique and homogeneous language and the depreciation of the linguistic varieties spoken by teachers, mainly the regional varieties. The research leads to a prominence to reflect about these pedagogic practices, analyzing the conception of the language that circulates in the ambit of the school as a form to contribute to one of the linguistic and social diversity in the educational context.
