Resumo: | In this paper we analyse a phenomenon called inflexion of the adverb meio in a sytanticsymanthic context, which is related to a predicative structure. Our proposal is to make an interpretative discription of the referred phenomenon based in a funcionalist perspective of the language, pointing to the existence of a predicative construction that motivates this inflexio n. We have made an exhaustive raising of the item meia s occurences (the item meia as an inflected form of the adverb meio) in the interviews of the linguistic s variation of Rio de Janeiro census sample, which integrates the PEUL/UFRJ group s collection and the Corpus of the Portuguese, which supplies texts from XIV to XX centuries texts. The predicative construction we focalized presented two motivation s levels: the codification level and the cognition level. In the codification level we have noticed four syntatic-symantic integration s steps. The crossing from one step to another takes into consideration the more or the less construction functional elements proximity and the fact that the iconicity s motivation, which collaborates to the inflexion of the adverb meio, also cross from the level of codification to the level of the cognition, in a continuum. The investigated construction didn t seem to be related to any synchrony or any kind of specific text s class. What we ve noticed is that the construction can be found every time the context collaborates to it. The analized data presented a number of linguistics marks that point to a speaker s attitude of valuation of the massege and the presence of a context marked by modalization. We understand that the analyse s results seem to show the existence of a predicative construction that motivates and collaborates to the inflexion of the adverb meio. We propose that this referred construction must not be considered as a wrong construction but as an acceptable one. As a matter of fact, it is a schematic structure, a whole unity in which the inflexion of the adverb meio can be found. |
