Resumo: This work gathers the results of a research carried through the process of the deveiopment of 20 information system projects and their respective final products. Despite the evolution of the information technology, many problems still persist in the implementation of information system projects, mainly related to stated periods, costs and user satisfaction. The problem presented in this work is to know which are the impacts in the software quality iii DATAPREV (Empresa de Tecnologia e Informações da Previdência Social), from the customer s point of view, caused by the use of the practices and proposais of the CMM (Capability Maturity Model) in the development of sofiware projects. The sample was taken from DATAPREV. The objective of the research was first to identify in which levei of the CMM each software project is classified. A second goal was to evaluate the perception that the users have about the quality of the software generated by the projects. The used theoretical referential was the mstrument to evaluate the quality of the service proposed by Valerie A. Zeithaml, A. Parasuraman and Leonard L. Berry, and the Software Capability Maturity Model proposed by Software Engineering Institute.
