This paper explores the Corporate Governance s practices and was based on a case of a utility concessionary organization, in the segment of electric power distribution. The methodology used was exploratory based on two structured questionnaires, submitted to members of the Administration Council, Chief Executive Officer, Directors and Managers of the organization are applied. The aim of this research was to investigate the adherence s degrees, the application s effectiveness and the importance to shareholders value creation, through interviewee s perception, in relation to practices suggested by the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance, and also possible contributions to the development of the organization due to the implementation of the mentioned practices. After qualitative evaluation of the results and of the available data, the conclusion on the adherence related to IBCG practices, the importance given to them by managers and the relationships between those practices and the organization s development in the studied period are presented.
