Resumo: l he purpose of this work ís to evaluate the relalionship between the changes provided by the Íntegrated Management System (IMS) adoption, based on the early management modeis, chiefly in order to airn at worker health and security aspects, detaching its mental dimension. To its pe.rform, we looked up the necessary support on the pertinent literature, in order to confront theory and practice, to feature the IMS, to confirm if there is an effeetive action iii searching to integrate the enterprise sectors, in order to create a whole one, as preconceived, whi.ch interact in consensus. reciprocally and, specially, that pursue to give Lo the worker a treatment that he deserves: to be respected in bis subjectivity, hy the credit given to hs voice, either in technical or personal subjects (heaith. at a particular forrn), or by the worthy work conditions, healthy and safe ones, by the recognition of bis merits, capacities, dedication and zeal in participating of lhe organizational goals, that are based and depend on him. We do not find a significant correspondence between theory and reality, excepting for some cases, due mentioned. Interviews with unionized rnetaliurgists and managers have provide subsidies to establish paranieters between speaking and doíng, between the literature conceptionlrecommendation and the crude reality from work situations, either in production or in managernent. The truth of these speeches, facing the ideal managernent methods, is the signiflcant dimension we intend to feature.
