Resumo: The objective of this dissertation is to approach a subject not very often discuss in Brazil, but that can compromise the environment and the sustainable development. For its importance, the process of environmental impact assessment was established in Brazil by the law 6938/81 as an instrument of the National Environmental Politics and latter a resolution of Conama 01/86 made it mandatory the elaboration of the Environmental Impact Study (EIS) to modifying environmental activities. Besides the direct impact in the EIS it should also be consider, identified and analyzed the indirect, cumulative and synergic environmental impact by its capacity of visualizing the long term and the interactivity in the region of the project. In other countries some studies indicate that those impacts are not being approached in the right way in the EIS of the new projects. In this dissertation was evaluated 09 EIS of the big projects PAC in Brazil, with the objective of identifying how indirect and cumulative impact as well impact interactions are being approached, which methodology are being used and the main difficulties. The results concluded that those impacts are not being approached in the right way in EIS in Brazil and there is a wide variation in the type of methodology used in this study
