Resumo: | Coccidians of the genus Sarcocystis are considered important parasites in domestic animals in general and the dogs are the final hosts of several species, being associated to the more pathogenics ones among them the Sarcocystis cruzi. The dogs become infected after ingestion of cysts from the musculature of the intermediate hosts (herbivorous and omnivorous). The distribution of this coccidiosis in animals is cosmopolitan, however the world´s predominance in the dogs change according to the country, period and methodology used. Extra-intestinal pieces of coccidis can be seen on the mesenteric lymph nodes of the hosts dogs. The objectives of this work are to identify and to evaluate the presence of sporocysts of the genus Sarcocystis in mesenteric lymph nodes and small intestine of dogs infected naturally through anatomopathological and parasitological analysis. It was carried out necropsy in 100 dogs of different races and ages, male and females. They were originated from the metropolitan region of the Rio de Janeiro as well as from the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), Universidade do Grande Rio (UNIGRANRIO), Municipal Institute of Veterinary Medicine Jorge Vaitsman (M), private clinics (CP), Center of Control of Zoonoses of Niterói (CCZ) and Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ). As positive control were used samples given by the laboratory of Coccídios and Coccidioses (UFRRJ). Also, were carried out macroscopical analyses of all of organs and collected sample of excrements in formaldehyde tamponed to 10%. Samples of small intestine and mesenteric lymphnodes were collected and packed in formaldehyde tamponed to 10% for istopathologic evaluation, that were made by the method of routine and coloured in E and PAS. Segments of duodenum, jejun and ileum were separated, washed in runing water and done a scraping of mucous membrane then submitted to the method of digestion by the hipoclorito of sodium to 5-6% and packed under cooling in gutaraldeído to 2,5%. Part of the mesenteric lymph nodes collected were submitted to the method of digestion by sodic pepsin. For recuperating the sporocysts from the xams of excrements, from the digestion of scraped intestines as well as from the esenteric lymph nodes was applied the technique of saturated sugar solution. From the 100 dogs necropsies were analyzed 82 samples of excrements, being all negatives for sporocysts of the species the genus Sarcocystis. All the animals (100) had their scraped intestines analyzed and 10% were positive for sporocysts of Sarcocystis, being predominantly found in the jejun area. Eighty-six samples of mesenteric lymph nodes were analyzed and four (4,6%) were positive. According to morphometric evaluation, the sporocysts found were similar to those described for S.cruzi. On the histophatology analysis the most frequent intestinal wounds were: infiltrated inflammatory lymphoplasmcytosis and hyperplasia lymph nodes; on the mesenteric lymph nodes there was disorganization of the lymphatic follicles and cellular rarefaction in the medular region, not being found oocysts and sporocysts in the woven analyzed. In three dogs were found sporocysts in the mesenteric lymph nodes by the method of peptic digestion but negative by the scraping of intestinal mucous membrane suggesting that may have migration through lymphatic glasses. The inquiry of this coccidiosis in the dog by anatomopathological and parasitological analysis is a contribution for understanding the importance of the dog as related to the host parasite. |
