Resumo: The present work aims at identifying the contribution of the Method of Analysis and Troubleshooting (MASP) in a process of waste management, prioritizing the causes of greater relevance of non-conformities, being proposed preventive and/or corrective actions to eliminate the causes identified. For such, it was performed an applied qualitative and exploratory research in the administrative area of a company in the energy sector, using a case study approach. The mapping of non-conformities and other opportunities for improvement in the stages of collection, temporary storage, transport and final disposal of solid wastes was carried out. The main sources of information used were the records associated with the process of waste management (audits and evaluations in general). In order to provide the necessary knowledge for the application of MASP tools and the development of this study, it was initially conducted a training of the working group on the topic studied. The result of this study focuses on several requirements of the company relating to the performance of its process, being more stringent than those specified by legislation, highlighting the failure in the establishment of the items to be inspected with regard to the environment as the cause of greater relevance of non-conformities, proposing its solution actions in order to contribute to the search for excellence in the company s environmental results. When it comes to grouping causes through the use of Ishikawa s Diagram, the relative group to people was the one with the largest amount of causes, indicating the importance of actions aimed at raising awareness.
