Resumo: | Brazilian agribusiness, responsible for 42% of the national PIB, is understood as the set of commercial and industrial relationships which involve the agricultural and/or livestock productive chain in Brazil. Principally involving small producers it is considered to be a strategic sector for the country s development and is also seen as one of the main causes of environmental impact arising from human activities. This dissertation is not only the result of the confluence of the two themes, agribusiness and environmental impact, but also includes as a research objective formal basic education, as the majority of agricultural producers have not concluded junior secondary education. It maps the critical factors of the formal educational process which impact negatively on the environmental performance of the agricultural producer and can act as inductors of difficulties in a future competition scenario involving non-tariff barriers related to the environment. The descriptive exploratory investigation used, as the means of investigation, an analysis of time spent at school, the quality of the content covered in Natural Sciences books analyzed by the National Textbook Program, as well as the educational background of the teachers who graduated from federal public institutions. |
