Resumo: The aim of this thesis is to map the struggles for survival while ways of (re) existence in firefly-schools woven as subversions in a model that subalternizes them, considering the complexity of everyday relationships, the invisibilization processes that act in such relationships and the solidarity networks that emerge from these practices seeking,, from the field of Environmental Education, to highlight their ecopolitical power. From the firefly proposition, that these units resist the spotlight of the big cities, I present survivals produced daily by school units that live with the threat of closure due to the low a omunts of students, distance to urban centers and high maintenance costs for the city. These schools are located in areas named by the Duque de Caxias/RJ municipal administration as being of very difficult access. Throughout the thesis, I attempted to list the human and non-human associations in the constitution of the common world as a (re)existence way for firefly-schools. The methodological bias that allowed the identification of these survivals was the issue of five flashes produced from searching with natureculture. Practicedthought Narratives in the research field are presented having as guide the proposition of smaller sparkles that are entwined in the weaving of conclusive reflections. As conclusions, I present the possibility of knowing the survivals of fireflies starting from an also firefly way of research and the proposition that, when we follow the intermittent glow of fireflies and get to know ways other of being in the world and, therefore, we also are become luccioles. Such joint flight with the research field leads to much needed ecopolitics. The good meeting with other knowledge, created by practicing fireflies who daily resist the spotlight of those who imprison themselves in socially valued knowledge production, make up the practicedthought sustainabilities in knowledge ecology. It is these sustainabilities that have ensured that school units of very difficult access maintain their living flashes
