Resumo: This thesis aimed to identify elements for a possible definition of the core knowledge of psychology in its work in multiprofessional teams in primary care of SUS. The research was designed in the form of three studies: a documentary study with documents from the Ministry of Health and the CFP, a field study in which 14 psychologists working in primary care (PC) were interviewed, and a theoretical one articulating the results of the first two. Reflective thematic analysis was used to evaluate the results of the field study. The findings show that the clinic is the main element of the knowledge core of psychology at this level of care, characterized by a specific way of seeing and listening of psychologists who focus on the subject in its singularity, interdisciplinary practices, intersectoral collective actions and shared team actions with permanent educational characteristics. These characteristics indicate that it is already a form of extended psychosocial clinic and not a reproduction of the traditional, privatizing and individualizing psychology clinic. The research found that other determinants affect the work of psychologists in this context. It shows that the psychologist contributes to the formation of the team and concludes that it is important to move forward in the sense that, based on the elements listed as constituting the core of knowledge of psychology in PHC, collective work should be carried out with the participation of professionals in order to draw up a definition of this core. Other important elements that affect the place of psychology in primary care and in SUS were identified, and further research on this issue is needed.
