Efeito de dezesseis semanas de treinamento de resistência aeróbia na função vascular de jovens sedentários

Resumo: Introduction: Several studies have been demonstrated that aerobic training decrease resting blood pressure and increase the arterial elasticity. However, the effect of the aerobic training on the vascular complacency of healthy young is unknowed. Objectives: to evaluate the effect of 16 weeks of aerobic training on the vascular function and blood pressure of sedentaries healthy youngs. Methods: 56 (both gender; 18-29 years) voluntaries were evaluated before and after 16 weeks of running (3 x week). The blood pressure measurement was performed according VI Hypertension Brazilian Guiding and the pulse wave velocity (PWV) was performed by computer automatic recorder and results were analised by Complior® program. Results: 44 voluntaries were male (78.5%) and 12 were female (21.5 %) and presented 22 ± 3 years, 1.75 ± 0.07 meters, 79.6 ± 7.8 cm of waist circumference and mean arterial pressure of 79 ± 6.4 mmHg. The exercise training evoked decrease of resting heart rate (69 ± 7.0 vs. 61 ± 7.1; p<0.05) and increase of peak consumption oxygen (43.3 ± 7.3 vs. 50.1 ± 7.2; p<0.05). Nevertheless, systolic blood pressure (107 ± 9,4 vs. 110 ± 10), diastolic blood pressure (63 ± 5,7 vs. 62 ± 5,5), pulse pressure (44 ± 7,0 vs. 48 ± 7,0) and PWV (6,5 ± 1,1 vs. 6,5 ± 1,1) did not presented alteration after exercise training. Conclusion: 16 weeks of running evoked increase of cardiovascular performance, however, did not caused alteration on the arterial stiffness and blood pressure in sedentaries healthy youngs. The results obtained suggest that the absence of vascular adaptations after training was due to characteristic sample - healthy youngs.
