Resumo: | The infantile mortality coefficient (IMC) is used as an indicator of the nations development level, of the assistance quality offered to the mother-infantile health and of the population’s life conditions, giving the estimative of the death risk before completing one-year old. It is about an ecological study that analysis secondary data, that approaches data space analysis, with the aim of determining, between 2001 and 2005, the space standard of infantile mortality, the main groups of basic causes for the death in cities in the State of Espírito Santo, and also the linkage of this with socio-economics, demographic and attention to health indicators, taken from data bases as SIM, SINASC, PNUD. For the statistical analysis, it was used the descriptions, Pearson’s correlations, factorial analysis and multiple linear regression. For the data space analysis, it was used the Bayesian empiricists methods, analysis of the space dependence of infantile mortality coefficients and of their components neonatal and post-neonatal, through the calculation of the I Moran index. Proceed the cities’ socio-economical characterization starting from the development and income inequality factors, that results the factorial analysis, and then using the technique ANOVA. It was utilized Excel programs (2003 version), SPSS 15.0 and TerraView 3.2.0 RC3. Espírito Santo presents infantile mortality coefficient medium in the period of 18,47 deaths for a thousand children born with life, with I Moran Index of 0,35 (p. value <0,001), considering that deaths are caused by perinatal, followed by congenital malformations, respiratory system illness, infectious and parasitic illness and external causes. The extreme South and metropolitan regions present significant space dependence for the higher and lower IMC rates, respectively. It considers that better socioeconomic factors contribute to lower IMC levels. With this, it’s urgent the implementation of actions that will minimize the socioeconomic inequality and that will extend the access to mother-infant assistance with quality in Espírito Santo. |
