Resumo: | This work had the objective of experimenting a working method with young people in high school in a public full-time school in the countryside city of Espírito Santo. For this experiment, the concept of youth and its relation to school, especially physical education in high school, was widely discussed. This intervention used as a foundation themes related to the youth culture present in the curricular guidelines for high school of 2006, specific for physical education and for the school community. The young students from three high school classes formed eight youth nucleus, being one of dance, one of dynamic exercises, one of basketball, three of volleyball, and two of futsal. Each group worked with four themes related to youth culture. The cores met once a week in Physical Education classes and performed activities according to the contents and themes chosen by them. In this work, the teacher acted as a mediator between the various problems that emerged. For this work, it was performed as a specific goal, partnerships with the disciplines of Art, English Language, Portuguese Language, and Spanish Language. During the intervention many challenges emerged, exposing the weaknesses of the school and high school towards young people, as well as the social difficulties faced by young people beyond the school. But the experiment served as a space to, besides guaranteeing juvenile cultural practices in the school space, debate and problematize these social weaknesses that are still a hindrance to the guarantee of a decent social life for young people. Finally, we identified that it is necessary to understand and discuss the various existing concepts of youth so that we can affirm and guarantee young people as social beings, endowed with specificities. |
