Resumo: |
This dissertation is fit within the field of Communication, focusing on the theme of adaptation, specified by the subject of literary works transposed into digital games. The work seeks to help in understanding how this type of adaptation is made, proposing a comparative method of formal analysis for the process, which first goes through two other stages of analysis: the presentation of the game to the public, from which can be extracted hypotheses of intention of the developers of the adaptation, and the formal analysis of each medium, the source book and the originated game. To this end, and initially, a state-of-the-art research is presented, focused on a national level and with a focus on the last 8 years within academic communication and general vehicles, making a survey of other works that have synergy with this one, ending up with check a small amount of articles, theses or dissertations, further validating the need for this research. A theoretical outline will then be presented to the reader so that it is aware of the terms, concepts and theories that involve the theme, leveling it for a better understanding of the method presented in the sequence, according to what was said earlier, being introduced after a brief contextualization of the scenario of adaptation possibilities in digital games. Finally, the method is applied to the corpus defined in the title of the dissertation: the work The ABC Murders, by Agatha Christie, and its adaptation in game format, Agatha Christie The ABC Murders. From this application, hypotheses and perceptions are raised regarding both the two works and the adaptation process, with their choices, strategies, and definitions, finally showing the usefulness of the method for the study focused on these media. |
