Resumo: The development as a form of capital intervention is an ideology that is spreading in colonial landmarks over the historical times. This marks the North - South relationship, resetting itself today in South - South cooperation, to constitute one of the pillars of the new economic and political order. This work is linked to fundamentally a critical discussion of South - South cooperation. Therefore considers, as a milestone in contemporary geopolitical configuration, the BRICS, in block condition comprising Brazil , Russia, India, China and South Africa, making effective new forms of imperialism which are in the name of the cooperation. In this context of asymmetric South - South, this dissertation problematizes the so - called cooperation of the global South countries, with the specific focus of the Brazil - Mozambique relations, from the activities of multinational Vale SA operating in Mozambique in coal mining mineral. It is an investigation that enters the company's modus operandi in order to unravel impacts of mining in conjunction with health / environment / labor within the framework of accumulation by dispossession The work is sustained in the theoretical contributions of South Epistemologies, in conjunction with the analysis of post - colonial thought, political eco logy and critical thinking to the processes of capitalist globalization. It mobilizes as methodological bases from the perspective of complexity, developing bibliographical and documentary research to circumscribe a qualitative study in order to understand the effects of exploration of Vale SA in the country, working a peculiar categorization to demarcate the extractivism of the effects of different ranges, “effects now”, “leakage effect”, and “rat effects”. "Thus, from the perspective of criticism, the com pany's actions are discussed, particularly in Tete province, village of Moatize, denouncing the profound disrespect local communities. In this perspective the displacement of families is highlighted without due consideration to socio - cultural issues and ot her local mechanisms of reproduction. Added to this, the poor quality of the resettlement areas, impacting negatively on the work and lives of people dependent on family farms. Part of rural workers were transformed into proletarians, an unjust logic of in clusion that is characterized by over - exploitation of the labor force. It is remarkable disrespect to the community leaders. The company makes use of water on a large scale, in a region where there is a lack of this resource for survival. High air pollutio n and water contamination is observed causing illnesses. It is worth mentioning the existence of crackdowns on dissenting voices. Thus, the communities affected by the project, which is seen as development, live and suffer i n fact a backwards development.
