Resumo: |
This thesis starts from questions about contradictions in the field of mental health, which even in the face of so many criticisms of the diagnostic manuals and medications used when dealing with experiences of suffering, sees the exponential increase of these in our societies, as well as the search for them. It aims to delve deeper into the stories of people who have already received a psychiatric diagnosis at some point in their lives, offering a different form of study, which was named as "travels" to life stories, understanding that the sufferings of life experienced by so many are not exclusively physiological and organic reactions, but are closely linked to the stories of each person, this the thesis. This attitude allows us to have a greater deepening in the nuances concerning the experiences of suffering of each person interviewed, as well as a parallax look, which questions previous positions and theories that dictate are experiences of suffering anatome-physio-pathological basis illnesses. Conducts a theoretical-empirical study, which takes contemporary critical theories to discuss its object, as well as the help of the method of life history narratives of people who have already received a psychiatric diagnosis at some point in their lives. Six people were interviewed, who narrated their stories freely, having as a starting question "who are you?". This methodological choice was justified by the fact that they allowed the expression of a historical, personal and social perspective of the subjects, promoting a broader view of their experiences of suffering and contexts in which they were being constructed. It brings as theoretical foundation the contributions of scholars, such as Ciampa (2005), Silva Júnior (2018), Safatle (2015), Lima (2010) Foucault (1972), among others. The reflections presented contribute to the critical discussions related to the sufferings and illnesses in people's lives: the multiple effects of diagnoses and medicalization of people's lives; social relations and communication between people and groups; the current economic system and its repercussions; life forms and frameworks; the need for greater politicization of the subjects; and the urgency of rethinking our worldviews. |
