The models of economic growth presented as the key variable investments. In this context the public sector appears as one of the promoters of this important variable. Brazilian economic policy at the state's investments in infrastructure are an important economic action that turned the country into an industrialized nation and prospects for economic development. In this context various policies have been developed to serve the logistics to economic growth, among them roads. The model roads policy was adopted in a more visible from the late 1950s, where through the automotive industry led the state to expand the existing road network and make the link between the regions of more sophisticated way. However this policy was the result of discrimination in the northeast, as the roads followed the niches of developmental policy in this case favoring the center south over the Northeast. The main consequence of this situation was the road this little irrigation in the region's poorest country, paradoxically more economically demanded this type of investment, like the state of Piaui. Based on this context has been the objective of this study verify the importance of paving a stretch highway (BR-020) and its economic importance for the region. As a methodology for this study option is to review the literature and documents. The result of this research leads to the conclusion that paving the BR-020 is a form of state rescue the economic dynamics of the poorest regions of the country, stimulating the local economy and integrating these regions historically neglected by central policies. |
