Geopark Araripe, geoconservação e desenvolvimento sustentável: uma estratégia inclusiva

Resumo: The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate and analyze geoconservation actions in Araripe Geopark as an important tool for sustainable development. The methodological procedures were directed to the analysis of a case study involving the implantation and development of the Araripe Geopark in Ceará, in order to know and legitimize geoconservation as a viable strategy of inclusive sustainability. The geological characterization of the geosites together with the survey of the land and topographic situation of these areas, as well as the application of SWOT Analysis technique, made up the methodological tract in order to direct a permanent geoconservative strategy for the Cariri Cearense Region, assuring in the existence of the Geopark Araripe, a tool for maintaining actions aimed at balancing the growth of Cariri society and the quality of its environment. The geoconservation strategy most suited to territorial development is structured as follows: a) resolution of political and juridical problems (topographic and land survey), b) valuation and popularization of peculiar geophysical aspects, c) contextualization of the elements of biodiversity in the broad spectrum of geoscience, d) involvement and participation of communities in geoconservation projects, as a way to guarantee their empowerment over the territory and to develop the sense of belonging to the place - that guarantees natural monitoring based on prevention and care in use / occupation and production of space.
