Resumo: |
The research dealt with school retention and dropout as educational phenomena that result from conflicts, confrontations, negotiations and varied interests that, in turn, interfere in a significant and diverse way in the students formative path, but are not exclusively dependent on the student. There are studies that seek to understand the factors that lead students to interrupt their studies that resulted in theoretical models: Spady (1970, 1971) - Dropout Process Model, Tinto (1975, 1993, 1997) - Student Integration Model , Bean (1980) and Bean and Mitzner (1985) - Model of Student Exhaustion, Cislaghi (2008) - Model of Student Permanence in Undergraduate Studies in Brazilian Higher Education Institutions, and Pereira (2013) - Model of Factors Associated with the Learning Process Retention. The investigation had as a problem: how can the academic control sector of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará contribute to the permanence and success of the students?. It was defined as a general objective: to understand the work flow of the Coordination of Academic Control of the IFCE for the accompaniment and monitoring of the retention and evasion indicators in the campuses and to suggest orientations for the academic management related to these phenomena. The research was classified as mixed, as it had qualitative and quantitative approaches, followed by descriptive and bibliographic methods. However, it permeated the field of case study without delving into the technique. In this sense, the research went through two stages and three phases, with the critical-analytical stage covering the first and second stages, and the propositional stage comprising the third stage. In the first stage, an online questionnaire divided into four blocks was applied, and the last block was divided into two parts with a specific audience for each of them. In the second stage, he analyzed the situation of the phenomena in the Institution based on the answers to the questionnaire and data obtained from the digital platforms Em Números and Nilo Peçanha. The third stage dealt with the validation of the educational product. The Academic Control Management Guide for Accompanying and Monitoring Student Retention and Dropout Indicators at IFCE was prepared with the purpose of guiding CCAs in activities aimed at tackling student retention and dropout at the Institution. The Guide was developed in text in digital format with the intention of being posted on the IFCE website, facilitating its access from anywhere, as long as there is internet service, thus enabling successful practices for the academic management of control of the analyzed phenomena. It is hoped that the final product can contribute to ensuring the universalization of access to education, considering the guarantee of permanence of students. |
