The present study aims to investigate the relationship between intergenerational occupational mobility, education and intergenerational income mobility in Brazil, reflected in the standard of living, using data from the Base World Values Survey for the year 2018. The objective is to analyze mobility behavior intergenerational analysis of occupation and standard of living of Brazilians, based on information on education level, occupation, income, race, color and sex. To achieve this purpose, an ordered multinomial logit model will be used to capture the intergenerational change in children's standard of living, taking into account intergenerational mobilities in occupation and education, in addition to other factors that may impact this variable. Additionally, we intend to carry out an analysis of heterogeneous effects, considering the socio-occupational and educational conditions of the parents. The results indicate that in Brazil, children who improved their occupational and educational level in relation to their parents also improved their standard of living, however, the variable that reflects the improvement in education has a greater impact on the standard of living than the variable occupation. |
