The study aims to deal with the socio-spatial representation of Popular Urban Settlements to infer properly about the problems of urban infrastructure, their physical conditions and the exhibitions of spatial patterns of these urban agglomerations. It investigates the role of City Information Modeling (CIM) in the assessment and evaluation of problems with a specific focus on the intra-urban space of popular settlements. The research dives into urban data of these territories and perceives the restrictions on the articulation of existing information. This aims to a difficulty in the elaboration of drawings, designs, and urban planning by the urban planners when dealing with these areas. It takes place in a popular settlement located in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza, in the border area between the municipalities of Fortaleza and Maracanaú. The study proposes and installs an Integrated City Information Modeling System (SIMIC) that serves as a support for the design and planning of these clusters. To achieve this objective, a systematic review of the literature were made, searching across the main theoretical assumptions that characterize the intra-urban structure of these clusters, the role of city information modeling in understanding these territories and the use of digital image processing acquired by remote sensing and data modeling as tools capable of improving socio-spatial representation for analysis and description of its urban indicators. The aim is to increase the reading of the existing data on the territory to favor the display of the physical quality indicators of the households in the area under study, as well as their access to basic urban infrastructure. For this, the research developed a parametric design interface connected to a geographic database in which is possible to formulate and evaluate the indicators under study. As a result, a SIMIC installation allows to demonstrate more clearly how urban transformations occurred in the studied area, as well as it systematized the information which makes it possible to display the urban indicators related to the physical infrastructure of the houses in the area, their connectivity and how to use a project interface that facilitates a consultation and selection of the surveyed indicators, based on a consolidated database and the graphic representation of their information. |
