Resumo: In translation studies, problem solving is considered a goal-oriented action (TIRKKONENCONDIT, 2010). The translator's activities are finalized according to his interpretations and the use of strategies that assist him during the translation process. Many researches have been carried out in order to investigate the product of this process. However, in recent decades, other studies have emerged with the objective of investigating what is going on in the translator's mind, specifically in relation to his decision-making towards uncertainties that arise during the translation process. Uncertainty is an observable interruption in the translation process that leads the translator to hesitation (ANGELONE, 2010). Eye movement, word removal and text revision are some of the examples of interruptions in the translation flow (KHORASANI and YOUSEFI). In observing the analysis of the results obtained in this research, it was concluded that, although this study was not conducted with professional translators, problem management also occurs as a process between participants in a translation game, being this management accomplished through the use of metacognitive, cognitive and social affective strategies in order to produce a new text and give continuity to a new stage of the game. Data collected through verbal protocols also provided important insights that revealed how these participants managed the uncertainties in comprehension, transfer and production level, and in the application of the problem management group to behavioral levels, classified as: problem recognition, proposal of solution and evaluation of the proposal defined by Angelone (2010) as bundle behavior. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the problems management during the implementation of the Duolingo translation tasks, also using pedagogical translation as a tool for teaching and learning foreign languages.
