The malnutrition, continues propitiating the installation of infections several, low stature, delay in the infantile development, and being one of the main death causes, committing not only the undernourished child but the whole family context. The study had the aim to understand the causes that influence in the undernourished child im the family context. For so much, participated in the study ten families, that live in collective effort system, located in a peyphery area of Fortaleza-Ceará-Brazil. The method of research used was Ethnonursing, applying the model of observation-participation-reflection. By the analysis four categories appeared from the depositions of the informers: Work, Feeding, Home and Health. Due to the analysis, the cultural theme emerged: The family and the infantile malnutrition problem: in search of Solutions. The discoveries were contemplated and based in the presuppositions of the Theory of the Diversity and Universality of the Cultural Care, evidencing the multifactors of the study object causes obscure of the infantile malnutrition. Before those reflections, it appears the importance of the proposals in health education, that really include public politics, reorientation of the health Services as for the existent biomedical models, and the understanding of the society in struggling against the countless ones existent, social injustices in our country, with this the improvement in the family quality of life.
