This dissertation proposes to verify the adherence of the LEAN ENERGY methodology in a university hospital, with a focus on improving energy efficiency. The study involves analyzing electricity consumption data, identifying opportunities for savings in this consumption and suggestions for sustainable improvements by incorporating elements of the ISO 50001 standard and ESG criteria. LEAN ENERGY consists of a set of techniques and tools originating from the industry, which are being adapted to improve efficiency in electricity consumption. The research was conducted through a case study, with real data and estimated results, at the Walter Cantídio University Hospital, which has an average recorded demand of 1350 kW per month. The method used is based on the use of statistical and computational tools to analyze data and establish patterns of electrical energy consumption. Furthermore, it is important to highlight the technical diagnostic visit (VTD), also known as Gemba Walk in LEAN, carried out at the consumer unit's facilities, which is a crucial moment for the project, since the main opportunities for saving money are identified. Electrical energy and obtained detailed information for the preparation of the action plan that includes the Energy Efficiency Actions (AEEs) to be implemented. Additionally, there is an investigation of the impact of the microclimate on the location of the UC, such as the variation in solar incidence, aiming to optimize the electrical energy consumption of the hospital's air conditioning equipment. Added to this is the use of the Average Daily Consumption (CMD) indicator, used to establish the Energy Baseline (LBE), in addition to energy mapping, Sankey diagram and heat map in the visual representation of the distribution of electrical energy consumption. . Finally, quantitative results are presented focused on the hospital's electrical energy consumption, with an emphasis on the importance of an agile approach to energy efficiency, reducing electrical power and operating time, aiming to save electrical energy. In short, LEAN ENERGY makes electricity consumption “visible” to hospital managers, allowing the identification of improvements, the efficient allocation of resources and the promotion of a sustainable energy management culture. |
