Resumo: |
Due to high costs involved with building new power generation units, besides the environmental impacts related to the installation and operation of these units, the pursuit for energy efficiency becomes the best solution in order to deal with the challenges related to energy issue. In this context we have the International Standard ISO 50001 as an important tool to reach the energy performance continuous improvement. This standard states the rules for the Energy Management System (EnMS) implementation. The EnMS has the goals and objectives for energy performance improvement, top management commitment, states the energy policy in the organization. The ISO 50001 address the energy use in general, however this study will target the use of electrical energy. Considering that the public administration is one of the most representative electrical energy consumer in Brazil, this study consists in a case study of the ISO 50001 implementation in the Court of Auditors of the State of Ceara (TCE/CE). The searches reveals that in the list of the certified sites in Brazil there is no Direct public administration site. For this reason, in an eventual certification, the TCE/CE could be the pioneer in this kind of certification. In the beginning was shown the TCE/CE’s installations basics characteristics. Followed by the theoretical basis introduction and the technical concepts presentation that guides this study. The next step was to show the ISO 50001 implementation to the TCE/CE installations, revealing the size of this challenge of to apply this standard to a public institution. Finishing with the results that show potentials benefits to the TCE/CE. It is possible to reach in a long term energy saving of 8%. |
